Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Manager to join our team in Cambridge Bay, Nunavut. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing HR practices by planning, implementing, executing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies and programs.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a human resources strategy that enhances employee relations and shapes organizational culture using a combination of human resource best practices and Inuit culture and values.
- Lead workforce planning, talent management and strategic recruitment initiatives that address management's short- and long-term resourcing needs.
- Maintain and oversee performance management processes, fostering an environment of continuous development, coaching and assisting management in handling performance concerns.
- Lead the development and implementation of the organizational learning and development strategy, including the implementation and management of staff training sessions, workshops and activities.
- Organize cultural, language, and traditional knowledge training, including promotion of Inuktut and coordination of Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit (IQ) days.
- Manage and maintain the NIRB's Human Resource Information System.
- Mediate difficult conversations and/or conflicts and advise on matters where corrective action and/or dispute resolution may be required.
- Manage human resource and personnel record-keeping, ensuring accurate documentation and confidentiality.
We are looking for a candidate with a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or a related discipline, and a minimum of 5 years' experience in a Human Resources Management position. Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) or other HR designation is strongly preferred. Personal and professional experience in the Arctic or in a cross-cultural setting is also an asset.
