Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Guest Service Representative to join our team at Super 8 Hotel Amherst. As a key member of our front desk team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, managing guest arrivals and departures, and ensuring a seamless experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Register arriving guests and assign rooms
  • Process group arrivals and departures
  • Take, cancel and change room reservations
  • Provide information on hotel facilities and services
  • Provide general information about points of interest in the area
  • Exchange foreign currency
  • Process guests' departures, calculate charges and receive payments
  • Balance cash and complete balance sheets, cash reports and related forms
  • Maintain an inventory of vacancies, reservations and room assignments
  • Follow emergency and safety procedures
  • Clerical duties (i.e. faxing, filing, photocopying)
  • Answer telephone and relay telephone calls and messages
  • Assist clients/guests with special needs
  • Contact customers to deliver requested wakeup calls
  • Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties
  • Provide customer service
  • Work with minimal supervision
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of hotel software
