Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Guest Service Representative to join our team at Super 8 Hotel Amherst. As a key member of our front desk team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our guests, ensuring their stay with us is memorable and enjoyable.

Key Responsibilities
  • Guest Registration: Register arriving guests and assign rooms, ensuring a smooth and efficient check-in process.
  • Reservations and Departures: Process group arrivals and departures, take, cancel, and change room reservations as needed.
  • Information and Services: Provide guests with information on hotel facilities and services, as well as points of interest in the area.
  • Cash Handling: Process guests' departures, calculate charges, and receive payments, balancing cash and completing balance sheets and related forms.
  • Inventory and Maintenance: Maintain an inventory of vacancies, reservations, and room assignments, following emergency and safety procedures.
  • Clerical Duties: Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties, answer telephone calls and relay messages, and assist clients/guests with special needs.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Computer and Technology Knowledge: Multi-line switchboard, computerized bookkeeping system, central reservation system (CRS), spreadsheet, and internet.
  • Security and Safety: Bondable, credit check, and criminal record check.
  • Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Attention to detail, fast-paced environment, standing for extended periods, and work under pressure.
  • Personal Suitability: Client focus, dependability, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication, flexibility, judgement, organized, reliability, and team player.
