Job Title: Guest Service Representative

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Guest Service Representative to join our team at Super 8 Hotel Amherst.

Job Summary:

The Guest Service Representative will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our guests, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable stay. This role involves registering arriving guests, processing group arrivals and departures, taking and canceling room reservations, and providing information on hotel facilities and services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Guest Registration: Register arriving guests and assign rooms in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Group Arrivals and Departures: Process group arrivals and departures, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed.
  • Room Reservations: Take, cancel, and change room reservations as needed.
  • Customer Service: Provide information on hotel facilities and services, as well as general information about points of interest in the area.
  • Currency Exchange: Exchange foreign currency for guests.
  • Departure Processing: Process guests' departures, calculate charges, and receive payments.
  • Cash Handling: Balance cash and complete balance sheets, cash reports, and related forms.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain an inventory of vacancies, reservations, and room assignments.
  • Emergency Procedures: Follow emergency and safety procedures as needed.
  • Clerical Duties: Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties, as well as clerical tasks such as faxing, filing, and photocopying.
  • Communication: Answer telephone calls and relay messages, as well as assist clients/guests with special needs.
  • Wake-Up Calls: Contact customers to deliver requested wake-up calls.
Requirements:
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: Will train.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Hours: 8 to 24 hours per week.
