Associate Dean, School of Accounting and Finance

George Brown College is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Associate Dean to provide academic leadership and management of the School of Accounting and Finance. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing collaborative academic leadership and management of the School, including supervision and direction to faculty, managers, support staff, and students within their portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement the School's strategic plans as part of the college's academic and operational planning exercises.
- Supervise and direct faculty, managers, support staff, and students within their portfolio, ensuring a high level of performance through all aspects of people management.
- Resolve conflicts and address complaints from employees and students, and manage complex team dynamics effectively.
- Initiate, facilitate, and lead the review, development, implementation, and quality assurance of new and existing programs and initiatives in response to changing external and internal factors.
- Ensure that the objectives of the School are attained through effective supervision of the teaching and learning processes, and engage, encourage, and direct scholarly and applied research activities.
- Lead workload and workforce planning for the School, determining faculty teaching and complementary function assignments, making strategic human resource decisions, and maintaining the best interests and needs of the School/department.
- Lead partnership development with external academic and community partners, including Program Advisory Committee (PAC), and ensure positive and effective brand awareness of programs.
- Lead the development, monitoring, and directing of the School's operating budget in collaboration with the Manager, Academic Operations, divisional manager of finance and operations, and the Dean.
- Master's Degree is required; a Doctorate Degree preferred.
- The Post-grad degree should be in a discipline relevant to the School of Accounting and Finance programming.
- Additional certification in teaching, UDL, project management, leadership, etc., is a strong asset.
- Minimum nine (9) years of experience in the education field, including management/leadership experience, preferably in a unionized environment.
- Experience in fostering excellence in teaching and learning and academic programming.
- Demonstrated administrative/leadership experience, including developing and managing budgets, administration of policies and procedures, and management of human resources.
