Job Title: Associate Dean, School of Accounting and Finance

George Brown College is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Associate Dean to lead the School of Accounting and Finance. The successful candidate will provide academic leadership and management of the School, aligning with the College's strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Dean and leadership team to develop and implement strategic plans for the Centre and School.
  • Supervise and direct faculty, managers, support staff, and students within the portfolio, ensuring high performance and effective people management.
  • Resolve conflicts and address complaints, managing complex team dynamics and adhering to College policies and procedures.
  • Initiate, facilitate, and lead the review, development, implementation, and quality assurance of new and existing programs and initiatives.
  • Ensure the School's objectives are attained through effective supervision of teaching and learning processes, engaging in scholarly and applied research activities.
  • Lead workload and workforce planning for the School, determining faculty teaching and complementary function assignments.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with external academic and community partners, promoting positive brand awareness of programs.
  • Lead the development, monitoring, and directing of the School's operating budget, ensuring fiscal accountability for all funding sources.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree required; Doctorate degree preferred.
  • Relevant post-grad degree in a discipline related to the School of Accounting and Finance programming.
  • Additional certification in teaching, UDL, project management, leadership, etc., is a strong asset.
  • Minimum nine (9) years of experience in the education field, including management/leadership experience.
  • Experience in fostering excellence in teaching and learning and academic programming.
  • Demonstrated administrative/leadership experience, including developing and managing budgets, administration of policies and procedures, and management of human resources.
