About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and charismatic Host/Hostess to join our team at MARCUS Restaurant & Lounge. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for our guests, ensuring seamless service, and providing exceptional guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and seat guests promptly, courteously, and graciously, while utilizing Open Table to manage reservations and guest flow.
  • Set up the host/hostess stand, review the daily reservation book, and make recommendations to optimize guest seating and server assignments.
  • Anticipate guest needs, respond to inquiries and problems, and recognize regular guests by name and preference.
  • Inspect and maintain daily menus to ensure quality, condition, and appearance, while developing a complete working knowledge of all menu items and daily specials.
  • Work closely with the rooms department to identify in-house guests dining in our venues.
  • Report all incidents or unusual situations to the supervisor as quickly as possible.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • A flexible schedule with the ability to work all shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with a strong focus on delivering exceptional guest experiences.
  • Good understanding of food and beverage operations, including menu knowledge and inventory management.
  • High level of professionalism and integrity, with a strong commitment to maintaining the confidentiality of the hotel.
  • Working knowledge of MS systems, including Word and Excel.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, with a strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Previous experience in a high-end restaurant and bar setting is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Open Table and ability to operate computer equipment is an asset.
  • Must be able to stand for an 8-hour shift.
  • Require reading, writing, and oral proficiency in English and French.
