Job Title: Host / Hostess

At Estiatorio Milos, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Host / Hostess to join our team.

Job Summary

The Host / Hostess is the primary point of contact for our guests, responsible for creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere from the moment they arrive. This role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Welcome and greet guests as they enter the restaurant, ensuring a smooth flow at the entrance and throughout the dining area.
  • Make guests feel comfortable while waiting, escorting them to the bar or directly to their table.
  • Check-in, store, and retrieve outerwear and personal belongings for guests.
  • Participate in pre-service duties and applicable closing duties, including printing menus and updating shift summary notes.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding confidently to guest inquiries and speaking clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations.
  • Exhibit knowledge of menu items and ingredients, answering phone calls and providing information on reservations, availability, restaurant hours, and services.
  • Act as a Milos brand ambassador, upholding core company values and ensuring a memorable experience for our guests.
Requirements
  • A minimum of one year of experience in an upscale dining setting.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, team environment.
  • Able to multi-task, receptive to feedback and direction.
  • Knowledge of POS and reservation systems (an asset).
