About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and charismatic Host/Hostess to join our team at MARCUS Restaurant & Lounge. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for our guests, ensuring seamless service, and providing exceptional attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and seat guests promptly, while coordinating guest reservations and responding to inquiries in an efficient, courteous, and professional manner.
  • Set up the host/hostess stand, review the guest reservation book, and make recommendations for the set-up of the room, maintaining a station chart and cover count for the restaurant and bar.
  • Answer telephones according to Four Seasons standards and take guest reservations or provide information regarding the restaurant or any other hotel service.
  • Anticipate the needs of guests, respond accordingly to guest inquiries or problems, and recognize regular guests by name and utilize the guest's name consistently.
  • Inspect and maintain daily menus to ensure quality, condition, and appearance, while developing a complete working knowledge of all menu items and daily specials.
  • Work closely with the rooms department to identify in-house guests dining in our venues.
  • Report all incidents or unusual situations to the supervisor as quickly as possible.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • A flexible schedule with the ability to work all shifts: days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Excellent customer service skills with great enthusiasm, superior interpersonal skills, result-oriented, and highly self-motivated.
  • Good understanding of F&B operation.
  • High level of professionalism and integrity while maintaining the confidentiality of the hotel.
  • Working knowledge of MS systems; Word and Excel.
  • High attention to detail, strong organization skills, result orientation, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • A positive attitude and a can-do approach to any task.
  • Previous high-end restaurant and bar host/hostess experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge or the ability to operate computer equipment and experience with using Open Table is an asset.
  • Must be able to stand for an 8-hour shift.
  • Require reading, writing, and oral proficiency in the French and English languages.
