Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will provide therapeutic, diagnostic, technical, and teaching respiratory therapy services to patients in accordance with professional standards and the employer's mission, values, and management philosophy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide respiratory therapy services to patients, including therapeutic, diagnostic, technical, and teaching services.
  • Work under the general supervision of the Manager (or designate) to ensure that services are provided in accordance with professional standards and the employer's mission, values, and management philosophy.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
  • Develop and implement individualized respiratory care plans for patients.
  • Conduct assessments, evaluations, and interventions to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Document patient information and treatment plans in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Recent and related clinical experience is preferred.
  • Entry-to-practice academic credential in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited Canadian program or a MARRT approved equivalent, if internationally educated, is required.
  • Current registration with the MARRT is required. Current registration/membership in the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) is preferred.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Training requirements for this position shall be in accordance with the WRHA policy.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment and may be exposed to infectious diseases, blood and body fluids, radiation, toxic materials, noise, allergens, physical and emotional stress, etc. The candidate may also be required to work a variety of shifts, including weekends, and may be required to occasionally work extended hours.

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check, and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred.
