Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Concordia Hospital in Winnipeg. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will provide therapeutic, diagnostic, technical, and teaching respiratory therapy services to patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide respiratory therapy services to patients, including therapeutic, diagnostic, technical, and teaching services.
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
  • Develop and implement individualized respiratory care plans for patients.
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine patient needs and develop plans to meet those needs.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.

Requirements:

  • Current registration with the Manitoba Association of Respiratory Therapists (MARRT) required.
  • Recent and related clinical experience preferred.
  • Entry-to-practice academic credential in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited Canadian program or a MARRT approved equivalent, if internationally educated, is required.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Training requirements for this position shall be in accordance with the WRHA policy.

Working Conditions:

  • Good physical and mental health, manual dexterity, and visual acuity are required.
  • Ability to stand and walk and perform manual ventilation with one or both hands for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to run to emergencies.
  • Ability to lift heavy medical equipment including measuring devices, monitors, D and E size gas cylinders, and other equipment (weighing up to 15 pounds/6.8 kg).
  • Ability to push wheeled medical equipment.
  • Ability to move H and M size gas cylinders (weighing 66 to 100 pounds/30 to 45.5 kg).
  • Ability to assist with the positioning of clients.
