Job Summary

Shared Health is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to provide therapeutic, diagnostic, technical, and teaching respiratory therapy services in a clinical setting. The ideal candidate will have recent and related clinical experience, an entry-to-practice academic credential in Respiratory Therapy, and current registration with the MARRT.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide respiratory therapy services to patients, including therapeutic, diagnostic, and technical interventions.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and provide education to patients and families.
  • Operate and maintain respiratory equipment, including ventilators and oxygen therapy devices.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Recent and related clinical experience in respiratory therapy.
  • Entry-to-practice academic credential in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited Canadian program or a MARRT-approved equivalent.
  • Current registration with the MARRT.
  • Current registration/membership in the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) is preferred.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training requirements for this position shall be in accordance with the Employer policy.

  • Ability to establish and maintain good interpersonal relationships.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with other disciplines and demonstrate professional judgment and initiative.
  • Knowledge of the physiological, social, cultural, and economic aspects of patient care.
  • Ability to organize and complete assignments with a minimum of supervision.
  • Willingness to adapt to new concepts, techniques, and best practices in the academic and clinical fields of healthcare.
  • Experience with computers, including office productivity and e-mail software.
