Position Overview

As a Respiratory Therapist at Misericordia Health Centre, you will provide therapeutic, diagnostic, technical, and teaching respiratory therapy services in accordance with professional standards and the employer's mission, values, and management philosophy.

Essential Qualifications
  • Education: An entry-to-practice academic credential in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited Canadian program or a MARRT approved equivalent is required.
  • Certification/Licensure/Registration: Current registration with the MARRT is mandatory, and current registration/membership in the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) is preferred.
  • Experience: Recent and related clinical experience is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide therapeutic, diagnostic, technical, and teaching respiratory therapy services.
  • Establish and maintain good interpersonal relationships.
  • Work cooperatively with other disciplines and demonstrate professional judgment and initiative.
  • Organize and complete assignments with minimal supervision.

Working Conditions

  • Good physical and mental health, manual dexterity, and visual acuity are required.
  • Ability to stand and walk and perform manual ventilation with one or both hands for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to run to emergencies.
  • Ability to lift heavy medical equipment and push wheeled medical equipment.
