Job Title: Respiratory Therapist

At the Health Sciences Centre, we are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide therapeutic, diagnostic, and technical respiratory therapy services to patients.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide respiratory therapy services to patients, including oxygen therapy, ventilation, and aerosol therapy.
  • Conduct diagnostic tests and procedures to assess respiratory function and identify potential health issues.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in respiratory therapy and incorporate evidence-based practices into your work.
Requirements:
  • Current registration with the Medical Association of Respiratory Therapists of the Region of the Territories (MARRT) is required.
  • Experience in critical care and neonatal/pediatric respiratory care is an asset.
  • Knowledge of critical care ventilators and home ventilatory assistive devices is essential.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills are necessary to work collaboratively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations is required.
Working Conditions:
  • May be required to work extended hours, including nights and weekends.
  • May be exposed to infectious diseases, blood and body fluids, radiation, toxic materials, noise, allergens, physical and emotional stress, etc.
