Job Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Support Worker to join our team at Island Health.

Compensation Package

The estimated salary for this position is $45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.

Key Responsibilities

This role involves providing administrative support to healthcare teams by performing various tasks such as data entry, correspondence, and maintaining accurate records. The successful candidate will also be responsible for:

  • Ensuring the efficient operation of office equipment and supplies.
  • Providing excellent customer service and communication skills to interact with patients, families, and staff.
  • Maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion.
  • Working collaboratively as part of a team to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, applicants must have:

  • A Secretarial or Office Administration Certificate or equivalent education and training.
  • One year of recent related experience in an administrative role or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent keyboarding skills (50 wpm) and ability to operate related equipment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
