Job Title: Manager of Indigenous Housing and Sustainable Community Services

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35.00-$40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week

Work Location: In person

Job Summary:

The Canadian Mental Health Association is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager of Indigenous Housing and Sustainable Community Services to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our Genesis Place, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Program Operations: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Genesis Place, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for clients.
  2. Service Coordination: Coordinate with other CMHA programs to ensure a continuum of care and seamless service delivery.
  3. Staff Supervision: Communicate job expectations and responsibilities, while supervising, disciplining, managing and overseeing employees and work systems.
  4. Employee Development: Hire, train, motivate and coach employees as they provide attentive, efficient service to clients and residents, assessing employee performance and providing helpful feedback and training opportunities.
  5. Stakeholder Relationships: Maintain ongoing relationships with other stakeholders and housing/shelter providers, acting as a liaison between clients and other parties as needed.
  6. Program Budgeting: Assist in the development and management of the program's budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.

Requirements:

  1. Education: Related Degree or Diploma in Human Service or related field or a combination of education, training and experience.
  2. Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in shelter management, housing management, and/or client services, including case management and advocacy. Experience within the community is a plus.
  3. Management Experience: 2 years management/supervisory experience, senior management experience preferred.
  4. Validations: A valid Driver's license, Vehicle Business Insurance with 5 million liability, Valid First Aid and CPR, Mental Health First Aid an asset.
