Job Overview

Making Waves Childcare Inc. is seeking a skilled and compassionate Early Childhood Educator to join our team as a Child Development Program Coordinator.

About the Role

This is a permanent, full-time position offering 37 hours of work per week. We are committed to creating a supportive and inclusive environment that promotes the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Assist co-workers in housekeeping and cooking duties.
  • Supervise staff, trainees or volunteers.
  • Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs and taking children to local points of interest.
  • Encourage children to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music and physical activity.
  • Engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs and preparing crafts.
  • Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits.
  • Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisor.
  • Discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings.
Requirements
  • An Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate.
  • A First Aid Certificate.
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Punctuality and dependability.
  • Reliability and honesty.
