Making Waves Childcare Inc. is seeking a dedicated and caring Early Childhood Educator to join our team.
About the RoleThis permanent position involves working in a busy child care centre with children aged [insert age range]. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children of this age group and be able to develop and implement engaging childcare programs that promote physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development.
Responsibilities- Assist co-workers in maintaining a clean and safe environment, including cooking duties;
- Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children;
- Supervise staff, trainees, or volunteers and lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children on local outings;
- Encourage children to express creativity through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity;
- Engage children in activities such as storytelling, teaching songs, and preparing crafts;
- Guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits;
- Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors;
- Discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings;
- Knowledge of licensing regulations;
- Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children;
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with coworkers and community service providers working with children;
- Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children.
- Diploma or certificate in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or related field;
- First Aid Certificate;
- 3-4 years of experience working with children in a childcare setting;
- Criminal record check;
- Immunization records;
- Vulnerable sector check;
- Valid driver's license and own transportation;
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a team environment.
- $45,000 - $55,000 per year salary, depending on experience;
