Compassionate Caregiver

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Health Care Aide to join our team at Retirement Concepts. As a key member of our care team, you will play a vital role in providing person-centered care to our residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.

The successful candidate will have experience working in long-term care and possess strong communication and interpersonal skills. You will work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary care team to develop and implement individualized care plans that promote the independence and well-being of our residents.

• Provide personal care services such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and assistance with meals;
• Respond to call bells/alarms and provide timely interventions;
• Monitor residents' progress, symptoms, and behavioral changes, and report significant observations;
• Utilize proper safety protocols when operating mechanical aids;
• Aid with lifting and/or transferring of residents using established techniques;
• Assist residents with nutritional assistance, including meal service and tray setup;
• Encourage resident participation in food service and clean-up;
• Perform laundry duties as required;
• Involves residents in organizing and maintaining their home environment;
• Attends community and education programs.

• Degree from a recognized Care Aide program;
• Active registration with the British Columbia Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry;
• Food Safe Level 1 Certificate (an asset);
• Medication Administration Certification (an asset);
• Previous experience in long-term care (an asset);
• Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently.
