About Our Opportunity

As a key member of the Government of Nova Scotia team, you will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day functions of our office. In this Administrative Clerk position, you will work under general supervision, performing assignments of intermediate complexity that require a high degree of analysis and independent judgment.

Primary Accountabilities

  • Support the four IPG Directors by scheduling meetings, maintaining calendars, supporting HR processes, booking travel and accommodations, and analyzing budget expenditures.
  • Prepare reports from statistical and financial information to ensure management receives accurate and timely information.
  • Receive, classify, reconcile, consolidate, and/or summarize documents and information.
  • Maintain a filing system of original source documents for audit and other legal or organizational requirements.
  • Deal with internal clients or external sources to resolve non-routine queries and problems.
  • Prepare letters, memoranda, and reports for approval, while following up on pending issues.
  • Deal with the more technical aspects of work or troubleshoot work issues handled by junior clerks.
  • Coordinate with support services and assign short-term tasks to others when necessary.

Qualifications and Experience

We are looking for a self-motivated individual with at least grade 11 plus 4 years of related experience. An equivalent combination of training and experience may be acceptable. You should be proficient in Microsoft Office programs, have strong interpersonal and communication skills, and excellent keyboarding skills with a high degree of accuracy.

Working Conditions
