Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Strategic Business Development Manager to join our team at LHR Americas. This is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned professional to leverage their expertise in business development, transaction management, and leadership to drive growth and success.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the transaction development and procurement process from early economics analysis through to financial close. They will work closely with internal subject matter experts to ensure transaction progress and coordinate with external stakeholders as needed.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business development, project finance transactions, and joint ventures, with a proven track record of closing complex deals. They will also possess excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and direct high-performing teams.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute business development strategies to identify and pursue new opportunities
  • Manage the transaction development and procurement process, including drafting solicitation of interest, finalizing and issuing request for proposals, conducting job explanation meetings, managing bid processes, and negotiating contracts
  • Work closely with internal subject matter experts to ensure transaction progress and coordinate with external stakeholders as needed
  • Prepare transaction approval documents and manage required functional review and approvals
  • Support pre-feasibility and feasibility studies to establish technical, financial, and marketing viability of new initiatives
  • Provide administrative direction to transaction teams and prepare job performance appraisals and recommend job promotions
  • Analyze companies, perform industry sector analysis, and interact with external financial advisors, lenders, and environmental, commercial, and technical consultants
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, or equivalent
  • 12 years of relevant experience in business development, with a strong background in project finance transactions and joint ventures
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and direct high-performing teams
  • Proficient in oral and written English
Benefits
  • Monthly Base Salary: $12,500
  • Monthly Overbase: 25% of monthly base salary
  • Benefits Supplement: 20% of monthly base salary (increases to 25% after 3 years, 30% after 6 years, and 35% after 12 years)
  • Severance Package: 2 weeks' pay for each year of service (increases to 4 weeks' pay after 6 years)
  • Employment Tax: exemption from 'home country' income taxes based on performance
  • Vacation & Paid Holidays: 38 vacation days, 4 travel days, and 11-13 paid holidays
  • Medical/Dental Plan: complimentary in-Kingdom Johns Hopkins medical care/facilities for employee and eligible family members
  • Educational Assistance Plan (EAP): out-of-Kingdom assistance up to 5x monthly base salary, plus 2 round-trip economy air travel tickets for undergraduate college-age children
