About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Rehabilitation Assistant to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As an active member of the patient care team, you will work collaboratively with licensed health professionals to provide safe and proficient delivery of assigned interventions for patients in movement and daily function.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a variety of clinical care settings, including hospitals and health centers. You will be responsible for checking and cleaning equipment, maintaining treatment and storage areas, and ordering necessary supplies.

We are looking for an individual who is able to communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff, and who possesses good interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of proper body mechanics and be able to demonstrate basic computer skills. Competencies in other languages, particularly French, are an asset.

We offer a competitive hourly rate of $25.95 and a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.

About You

We are looking for an individual who possesses the following qualifications and skills:

  • Grade 12 or GED
  • Rehabilitation Assistant Program (including Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy components)
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Organizational ability to complete assigned work and manage changing staffing and caseload levels
  • Knowledge of proper body mechanics
  • Demonstrate basic computer skills
  • Competencies in other languages, particularly French, are an asset
  • Access to reliable transportation
Hours and Compensation

This is a long assignment, full-time position with 75 hours bi-weekly. The successful candidate will be eligible for our comprehensive benefits package and competitive hourly rate of $25.95.
