We are seeking a skilled Rehabilitation Assistant to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As an active member of the patient care team, you will work collaboratively with licensed health professionals to provide education and support to individuals, families, and groups. Your primary responsibility will be to deliver assigned interventions for patients in movement and daily function, ensuring safe and proficient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver assigned interventions for patients in movement and daily function
- Work collaboratively with the patient care team to provide education and support
- Check and clean equipment, maintain treatment and storage areas, and order necessary supplies
- Provide services in a variety of clinical care settings
Requirements:
- Grade 12 or GED
- Rehabilitation Assistant Program (including Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy components)
- Basic Cardiac Life Support
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with team members
- Organizational ability to complete assigned work and manage changing staffing and caseload levels
- Knowledge of proper body mechanics
- Demonstrate basic computer skills
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
- Access to reliable transportation
