About the Role

The Maintenance Manager will support the day-to-day operations and maintenance of residential properties located in Dartmouth and Halifax. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the general presentation of the property is of a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Collaborate with the Residential Property Manager to address any issues and provide effective solutions.
  2. Assign tasks to team members and monitor progress to ensure high-quality standards are met.
  3. Maintain accurate records of assigned tasks, repairs, and maintenance carried out by the team.
  4. Supervise a team of maintenance technicians, painters, and cleaners, providing guidance and performance management.
  5. Ensure all team members are trained in policies and procedures, and certifications are up to date.
  6. Maintain the condition of the buildings and tenant spaces, performing repairs and arranging for trades to perform other repairs.
  7. Communicate with external contractors to obtain competitive pricing or multiple quotes.
  8. Oversee the work of external contractors to ensure completion in accordance with contract.
  9. Efficiently procure tools, equipment, and supplies for all sites, reviewing and maintaining accurate par stocks.
  10. Liaise with the building controls team regarding outstanding issues, procedures, and practices at the site.
  11. Comply with all policies and procedures for the operation of the building.
  12. Be willing to learn and grow through mentorship and hands-on experience.
  13. Perform other similar and related duties as required by the Employer.

Requirements

  1. 2-3 years of experience in a management or team lead position.
  2. Minimum 3 years of experience in building maintenance or a related role.
  3. Familiarity with electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
  4. Valid driver's license and clean driving abstract.
  5. Proven ability to communicate respectfully, honestly, and effectively.
  6. Post-secondary education considered an asset.
