Residential Maintenance Manager

About the Role
The Maintenance Manager will support the day-to-day operations and maintenance of residential properties located in Dartmouth and Halifax. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the general presentation of the property is of a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Residential Property Manager to address any issues and provide effective solutions.
- Assign tasks to team members and monitor progress to ensure high-quality standards are met.
- Maintain accurate records of assigned tasks, repairs, and maintenance carried out by the team.
- Supervise a team of maintenance technicians, painters, and cleaners, providing guidance and performance management.
- Ensure all team members are trained in policies and procedures, and certifications are up to date.
- Maintain the condition of the buildings and tenant spaces, performing repairs and arranging for trades to perform other repairs.
- Communicate with outside contractors to obtain competitive pricing or multiple quotes.
- Oversee the work of outside contractors to ensure completion in accordance with contract.
- Efficiently procure tools, equipment, and supplies for all sites, reviewing and maintaining accurate par stocks.
- Liaise with the building controls team regarding outstanding issues, procedures, and practices at the site.
- Comply with all policies and procedures for the operation of the building.
- Be willing to learn and grow through mentorship and hands-on experience.
- Perform other similar and related duties as required by the Employer.
Requirements
- 2-3 years of experience in a management or team lead position.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in building maintenance or a related role.
- Familiarity with electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving abstract.
- Proven ability to communicate respectfully, honestly, and effectively.
- Post-secondary education considered an asset.
