About the Role

Axiom Builders is a leading construction partner for major developers in residential and commercial construction. We're seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager to support our field operations and leadership team in coordinating the building process for concrete high-rise projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for project execution, ensuring timely, within-scope, and within-budget delivery.
  • Develop and manage project scope, schedule, costs, and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
  • Work with our project accounting team to submit progress claims, provide forecasts, cost-to-complete, invoice reviews, and cost management.
  • Manage and maintain strong relationships with vendors, third-party contacts, consultants, engineers, and subtrade partners through professional and effective communication.
  • Ensure efficiency, quality, technical competence, and fair management of trades and suppliers.
  • Assist Project Manager in contract negotiations and management with trades, updating the construction schedule, preparing change order management, and preparing progress draws.
  • Coordinate and maintain comprehensive project documentation in a detail-oriented manner.
  • Track procurement of equipment and material, reporting on delivery dates that may impact project schedule.
  • Review Site Instructions with the Project Coordination team, communicate key elements to Site Superintendents and Project Managers.
  • Guide the Project Coordinator team by answering questions and overseeing quality and accuracy of tasks completed.
Requirements
  • At least three to five (3-5) years of experience being on-site, working on residential and mixed-use concrete projects as part of a general contractor.
  • Proficiency in Procore, MS Project, and other construction-related software is an asset.
  • Post-secondary education in Building Technology, Construction Management, or a similar field is an asset.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines.
  • Willingness to work on-site and be part of the action.
  • Academic experience or professional exposure to Design or VCON is an asset.
