Accounts Payable Specialist

Triovest, a leading privately-owned Canadian commercial real estate firm, is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist for a contract role in Calgary. This position is vital for managing the processing of invoices associated with development projects, property taxes, and utility services. Your key responsibilities will encompass the uploading and processing of invoices within our financial management system, ensuring precise coding, and securing timely approvals.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage the processing of invoices related to development, property taxes, and utilities in our financial system. Ensure accurate coding and obtain necessary approvals for invoice transactions. Maintain a well-organized accounts payable filing system for effective record management. Proactively address and resolve issues with external vendors and internal teams to prevent late payment fees. Reconcile vendor statements and investigate any discrepancies. As an integral member of our organization, you will help cultivate a collaborative work atmosphere and be committed to delivering exceptional service. Your ability to adapt and meet deadlines will be crucial, and we appreciate your openness to learning from experiences and embracing constructive feedback.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & ATTRIBUTES
A post-secondary degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. A minimum of one year of experience in accounts payable. Experience in Commercial Real Estate and/or Property Management is a plus. Familiarity with Yardi software is considered beneficial. Experience in processing utility and telecom invoices is an added advantage. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with intermediate to advanced skills, and familiar with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint. Comprehensive understanding of the invoice approval process as it pertains to Accounts Payable. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. A collaborative team player who thrives in a dynamic environment. Highly motivated and results-oriented with a strong ability to execute tasks effectively. Must embrace and support the diversity within the Triovest team. Excellent time management and organizational skills, with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
