Overview of the Position

Oversee the LCBO Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Program to ensure alignment with OPS directives, guidelines, and industry best practices. This involves revising methodologies, policies, guidance documents, templates, and the overarching Framework document, including risk definitions, metrics, and risk appetite statements. Uphold the responsibilities of the Risk Management Oversight Committee (RMOC). Spearhead the enhancement of existing organization-wide risk reporting. Design and execute innovative processes for risk identification, assessment, mitigation, and monitoring across various functions within LCBO and integrate them into key decision-making frameworks. Establish and implement Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) for effective risk monitoring. Implement and manage an ERM application or process to securely store and manage all risk-related activities. Conduct quarterly external risk assessments and provide insights to the RMOC for strategic consideration. Mentor and develop direct reports to ensure adequate staffing and skill levels to meet ongoing commitments. Prepare the annual financial plan for discussion with senior leadership. Monitor actual performance against budget throughout the year and prepare/review forecasts with senior management.

Candidate Profile

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. Relevant professional certifications are advantageous (e.g., CPA, CRMP, CRMA, CRM). Over 10 years of experience in enterprise risk management, including the execution of comprehensive ERM programs. Strong understanding of enterprise risk management governance, frameworks, and principles, including recognized frameworks (COSO, ISO). Exceptional interpersonal skills, particularly in facilitating discussions, presenting information, documenting processes, and reporting findings. Well-honed relationship management and influence skills to engage with various organizational levels. Demonstrated agility and resilience in managing workload and adapting to changing priorities. High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with risk management software and data analytics tools.
