Program Director, Enterprise Risk Management

As a key member of the Royal Bank of Canada's Group Risk Management team, the Program Director, Enterprise Risk Management will oversee the operational functions and strategies of corporate programs. This role will manage activities through senior managers and managers, and implement corporate and divisional strategic plans and budgets.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe Program Director, Enterprise Risk Management will be responsible for:
- Leading projects 'end-to-end' - project delivery on regulator-based remediation activities from initiation through to post-implementation review as required within approved time frames, scope and budget.
- Facilitating decision-making and developing risk-mitigation strategies to ensure the successful closure of remediation activities.
- Implementing change management - providing support for change management initiatives that can impact the project remediation activities.
- Exhibiting good regulation acumen and judgment in the formulation of recommendations to foresee and mitigate high-impact issues and complexities.
- Supporting and complying with Governance Risk Committee's (GRC) regulatory remediation process requirements aligning with applicable Enterprise Standards in a dynamic environment.
- Building relationships - building ongoing partnerships with key partners across the business, functions, including technology, and operations.
- Working closely with various teams towards a common goal and negotiating deliverables and milestones as required.
The Program Director, Enterprise Risk Management will also be responsible for:
- Managing and reporting on a portfolio of issues on behalf of Enterprise Resilience Risk team.
- Identifying and sharing trends and insights on issues with recommended strategies to mitigate future avoidance.
- Supporting Enterprise reporting and governance processes on the issues that are the responsibility of Enterprise Resilience Risk team.
To be successful in this role, the Program Director, Enterprise Risk Management will need to have:
- Extensive 10+ years of experience in Program Management.
- Extensive experience in Technology Function.
- Understanding of regulator mind-set and framework.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills – proven ability to communicate at Senior Management/Executive levels, including proven ability to manage challenging conversations.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Macros, 5+ years of People leadership experience. Experience managing a team and/or leading complex projects.
- Experience working in a matrixed environment actively managing a diverse group of stakeholders.
- Skilled in building a network and maintaining key relationships.
