Position Overview
The Opportunity
The Head of Operational Risk and Resilience Strategy (ORRS) will report to and assist the Chief of Evolving Risk and Risk Intelligence (ERRI) function.
The Head will be accountable for delivering and supervising various functional capabilities, including but not limited to evaluations, operational risk management initiatives, internal and external collaborations, as well as aiding in the formulation and execution of the relevant strategic roadmaps for the function.

Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Operational Risk and Resilience (including Enterprise Risk) teams globally to develop and maintain risk policies and standards related to ERRI.
Partner with ORRS colleagues and stakeholders to create and implement all necessary functional roadmaps and priorities.
Implement ERRI programs associated with regulatory obligations (i.e., E-21, B-10, etc.).
Conduct assessment activities and formulate actionable plans, communicate with stakeholders, and drive full implementation.
Support the execution of functional enhancement programs, including improvements to all other ERRI functions and supporting ORRS functions.
Assist in the development of the functional strategy and roadmaps as needed, advancing their designated function.
Facilitate the publication and dissemination of relevant risk reporting, including but not limited to the Operational Risk Committee and materials provided to regulators and other risk forums.
Support external stakeholder and regulatory engagement activities, including intake, triage, compilation, validation, and distribution of risk-related information.
Educate and train business units on risk management frameworks and associated risk policies and standards.
Contribute to ORRS involvement with and contributions to group risk tooling (e.g., Archer, Fusion Risk Management).
Ensure continuous and effective communication across appropriate Lines of Defense risk teams.
Promote a robust risk culture and oversee relevant risk culture assessment processes.
Influence and garner support from the senior leadership team and segments to facilitate the implementation of the roadmaps and methodologies, including when necessary the allocation of additional resources.
Engage in high-risk projects and change management initiatives, providing guidance to project sponsors and resources on operational risk management activities.

What We Seek
A background in risk management, operations, audit, compliance, or technology with over 10 years of experience and a proven record of increasing responsibility.
Demonstrated experience in implementing regulatory programs across various lines of defense.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and influencing skills are essential.
The ideal candidate must be a strong advocate for the Operational Risk and Resilience Framework(s) and demonstrate value such that the senior leadership team of each business and function will be engaged and commit resources to the program.
Strong relationship-building skills are necessary to establish and nurture effective working relationships with numerous resources across the organization.
Excellent presentation skills and the ability to create appropriate materials for senior executives to convey clear and concise messages and obtain buy-in when necessary.Robust project management skills and experience are required. You will manage multiple initiatives across various business units.
The ability to secure meaningful participation and support from diverse resources and departments will be critical to success.
Highly developed business acumen, with a practical approach to problem-solving and implementing solutions.Act as a consultant to the businesses and assist in designing approaches to the implementation of the ORRS Framework that suit each business.
Familiarity with or understanding of operational procedures at financial institutions (preferably insurance).Experience in designing, implementing, and validating the effectiveness of operational controls is advantageous.
Working knowledge of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), Operational Risk Management (ORM), and Operational Resilience (OR) regulatory requirements and leading practices (i.e., frameworks and processes) is a plus.
Experience collaborating with business, analytics, and other related functions across the organization.
Good knowledge and experience with GRC tools (preferably Archer) and related applications.
Basic exposure to GenAI and LLMs applications.
