About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef to join our team at Mother Tongue. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for leading our kitchen operations and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Cost Management: Maintain accurate records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory to optimize our menu offerings and pricing.
  • Operational Analysis: Analyze operating costs and other data to identify areas for improvement and implement cost-saving measures.
  • Culinary Innovation: Demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to our cooking staff to stay ahead of the culinary curve.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor our specialist chefs, chefs, cooks, and other kitchen workers to ensure seamless kitchen operations.
  • Menu Development: Collaborate with our culinary team to develop and implement new menu offerings that meet the highest standards of quality and presentation.
  • Supply Chain Management: Requisition food and kitchen supplies to ensure timely delivery and optimal inventory levels.
  • Staff Training: Train our staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food to ensure a safe and healthy dining experience for our customers.
  • Work Environment: Work in a fast-paced kitchen environment with a focus on teamwork, attention to detail, and exceptional customer service.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role or equivalent experience.
  • Language: English language proficiency.
  • Work Hours: 35 hours per week.
