Arterra Wines Canada stands as a premier producer and marketer of exceptional wines, both Canadian and imported. We are currently seeking skilled individuals for the role of Line Cook to enhance our culinary team. The Line Cook collaborates with a seasoned group to prepare and deliver daily food services and special events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepares a diverse range of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other food items utilizing various cooking equipment including broilers, ovens, grills, and fryers.
- Conducts daily opening, closing, and sanitation tasks as directed by the head chef; maintaining a clean and organized kitchen is vital for ensuring a positive dining experience.
- Adheres to standard portion sizes, cooking techniques, quality benchmarks, and kitchen policies consistently.
- Ensures adequate stock levels of food products at line stations to facilitate smooth service operations.
- Measures and portions food items prior to cooking in accordance with established recipes and portion standards.
- Maintains a clean and hygienic workstation, including all kitchen equipment and surfaces.
- Follows proper presentation and garnishing standards for all dishes served.
- Handles, stores, and rotates all food products in compliance with safety standards.
- Assists with food preparation tasks during less busy periods as required.
- Properly closes the kitchen and follows the closing checklist for all kitchen stations, aiding colleagues in the process.
- Participates in scheduled team meetings and contributes suggestions for operational improvements.
- Performs additional related duties as assigned by the Estate Chef or supervising manager.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking.
- At least 6 months of experience in a similar role.
- Effective communication skills with management and kitchen staff.
- Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift items weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Capability to work in a standing position for extended periods (up to 9 hours).
