Sustainability Project Coordinator

Key Responsibilities
- As an integral member of our team, you will have the chance to:
- Project Execution
- Oversee and direct projects for both private and public sector clients concerning Environmental Assessments (EAs), environmental permitting and approvals, environmental management, and compliance monitoring.
- Prepare EA documentation, including Environmental Study Reports, Transportation Environmental Study Reports, and other essential environmental reports to meet regulatory standards.
- Assess alternative strategies to execute projects and create mitigation plans to prevent or offset adverse environmental effects.
- Design and implement innovative engagement initiatives for the public and agencies.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on stimulating and complex projects.
- Business Development
- Foster client relationships by identifying market opportunities, maintaining client communications, preparing proposals, and engaging in business development efforts.
- Professional Growth
- Dedicate yourself to personal development and continuous learning in your professional journey.
- Guide the career progression of junior staff by providing technical direction, training suggestions, coaching, and mentorship.
- Enhance Dillon's corporate visibility through active involvement in professional organizations and committees.
Qualifications
A university degree or a post-undergraduate diploma in planning, environmental studies, biology, or a related discipline.
5+ years of experience, ideally within the consulting sector.
Desired Experience
Your background should ideally reflect the following:
- Proven success in project delivery as an Environmental Planner, Project Manager, or Environmental Lead.
- Experience in managing and executing Class Environmental Assessments for municipalities or provincial agencies.
- Comprehensive understanding of relevant municipal, provincial, and federal environmental laws, regulations, policies, guidelines, and permitting requirements.
- Experience in designing and implementing stakeholder and Indigenous Community engagement strategies.
- Involvement in business development activities, including client engagement and responding to Requests for Proposals.
- Experience in environmental management during construction phases, including the development of environmental management plans, on-site monitoring, and documentation.
- Professional certifications such as Registered Professional Planner (RPP) or Project Management Professional (PMP) are considered advantageous.
