About the Role

The Sherwin-Williams Sales Representative Training Program is an intensive 8-week initiative designed to equip you with comprehensive knowledge of our products, clientele, and operational systems, ultimately preparing you for a position as one of our Business Development Representatives.

  • Post-training, you will collaborate with our dynamic team of Store Managers to expand your business and achieve sales objectives.
  • You will be equipped with professional resources to devise market strategies, conduct product demonstrations, and provide guidance to customers on their paint and coating projects.

  • Complete training in accordance with established program guidelines.
  • Generate new business leads.
  • Assist in determining pricing structures for quotes, promotions, and negotiations.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports as required.
  • Deliver sales presentations to a variety of prospective clients.
  • Coordinate sales initiatives with marketing strategies.
  • Understand and advocate for company programs.
  • Prepare and submit sales contracts for orders.
  • Visit clients and potential clients to assess needs or promote products and services.
  • Maintain accurate client records.
  • Address client inquiries regarding terms, products, pricing, and availability.
Minimum Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment.
  • Must possess a valid, unrestricted Driver's License.
  • Must have at least a High School diploma or GED.
  • Must be able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to retrieve materials from shelves and floor stacks and lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 70 lbs. on occasion.
  • If currently employed by Sherwin-Williams, you must have received at least a "meets expectations" (3) rating on your most recent performance appraisal.
  • If currently employed by Sherwin-Williams, you must have completed all HR Cloud eLearning courses required for your current position.
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least one (1) year of experience in a retail, sales, or customer service role.
  • At least one (1) year of experience in business-to-business (B2B) sales.
  • An associate degree in business, sales, or marketing is preferred.
  • Previous experience selling paint and paint-related products is advantageous.
  • Experience with timekeeping and/or customer relationship management (CRM) systems is a plus.
  • Willingness to relocate for future job opportunities.
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in more than one language is beneficial.
