Overview

The Sherwin-Williams Sales Representative Training Program is an extensive 8-week structured initiative aimed at equipping you with the knowledge of our products, clientele, and operational systems, setting the stage for your future role as a Business Development Representative.

  • You will be equipped with professional resources to devise market strategies, conduct product demonstrations, and provide guidance to customers on their paint and coating projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete training in accordance with established program guidelines.
  • Generate leads and assist in determining pricing schedules for quotes, promotions, and negotiations.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports as necessary.
  • Deliver sales presentations to a variety of prospective clients.
  • Coordinate sales initiatives with marketing strategies.
  • Understand and advocate for company programs.
  • Prepare and submit sales contracts for orders.
  • Engage with clients and potential clients to assess needs or promote products and services.
  • Maintain accurate client records.
  • Address client inquiries regarding terms, products, pricing, and availability.
Minimum Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment.
  • Must possess a valid, unrestricted Driver's License.
  • Must have at least a High School diploma or GED.
  • Must be capable, with or without reasonable accommodation, of retrieving materials from shelves and floor stacks and lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 70 lbs. occasionally.
  • If currently employed by Sherwin-Williams, you must have received a minimum rating of "meets expectations" (3) on your most recent performance appraisal.
  • If currently employed by Sherwin-Williams, you must have completed all required HR Cloud eLearning courses for your current position.
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least one (1) year of experience in a retail, sales, or customer service role.
  • At least one (1) year of experience in business-to-business (B2B) sales.
  • An associate degree in business, sales, or marketing is preferred.
  • Previous experience selling paint and related products is advantageous.
  • Experience with timekeeping and/or customer relationship management (CRM) systems is beneficial.
  • Willingness to relocate for future career opportunities.
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in more than one language is a plus.
