Position Overview

We are seeking a Fraud Investigation Specialist to enhance our Investigative Services team in Western Canada. In this role, you will play a critical part in evaluating investigative leads within Auto and Property insurance claims.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Detect fraud indicators in insurance claims by gathering and analyzing relevant information to assess the need for further investigation.
  2. Perform initial evaluations of claim leads across various lines of business (auto and property) by analyzing claims data and providing actionable recommendations to adjusters and management.
  3. Employ fraud analytics tools to assess leads and determine the credibility of the information.
  4. Engage in project work, collaborating with members of the Investigative Services and other Claims departments to achieve project objectives.
  5. Maintain timely and respectful communication with stakeholders (both internal and external) when making decisions or providing feedback on leads and projects.
  6. Consult with stakeholders to enhance fraud detection strategies, financial tracking, and support business initiatives.
  7. Innovate investigative approaches and support artificial intelligence initiatives across all lines of business.
  8. Educate market staff on fraud awareness and prevention strategies.
Qualifications:
  1. Experience in claims handling within auto, accident benefits, property, or casualty is advantageous.
  2. Familiarity with provincial legislation governing auto insurance.
  3. Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities.
  4. Excellent communication and time management skills.
  5. Proficient written and verbal communication abilities.
  6. A positive and proactive attitude.
  7. Strong data analysis and creative problem-solving skills.
  8. Ability to recognize fraud indicators and develop innovative investigation strategies.
  9. Understanding of Artificial Intelligence applications in the industry.
  10. Prior investigation experience in the insurance or financial sectors is a plus.
  11. No prior Canadian work experience is necessary; however, eligibility to work in Canada is required.
