Job Summary

Athabasca Motor Hotel 1972 Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Hotel Assistant Manager to join our team. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our hotel, ensuring exceptional customer service, and driving revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and Manage Staff
    • Lead and motivate a team of staff members to achieve exceptional customer service and sales goals.
    • Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and implement training programs to enhance staff skills and knowledge.
  • Front Desk Operations
    • Manage the front desk, including check-in, check-out, and guest services.
    • Ensure accurate and efficient handling of guest transactions, including payments and refunds.
  • Financial Management
    • Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports to ensure accurate financial tracking and decision-making.
    • Monitor and control expenses, including labor costs, inventory, and supplies.
  • Maintenance and Facilities
    • Oversee maintenance and repairs of hotel facilities, including rooms, public areas, and equipment.
    • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and standards.
  • Customer Service
    • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to guest complaints and concerns in a professional and timely manner.
    • Ensure guest satisfaction through proactive communication and issue resolution.
  • Other Responsibilities
    • Assist in the development and implementation of marketing strategies to drive revenue growth.
    • Participate in staff training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Education
    • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • Experience
    • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a hotel or hospitality management role.
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong leadership and management skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
    • Knowledge of hotel operations, including front desk, housekeeping, and maintenance.
    • Proficiency in MS Office and other hotel management software.
