Company Overview: Evertz Microsystems Limited is a leader in the design and manufacturing of advanced audio and video infrastructure solutions for the broadcast and film sectors. We are currently seeking a dedicated HR Operations Specialist who embodies a proactive approach and a positive demeanor.

Position Summary: This role focuses significantly on Health & Safety, Payroll, and Employee Relations. Candidates with experience in these domains will be highly regarded.

Work Schedule: The standard working hours are Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. This is a full-time contract position covering an 8-month maternity leave.

Reporting Structure: The successful applicant will report directly to the HR Director and collaborate closely with the Plant Manager.

Team Dynamics: Our diverse team consists of over 60 manufacturing employees, organized into two shifts:
- Day Shift: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
- Afternoon Shift: 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM
Day shift employees report to the Plant Manager, while afternoon shift employees report to the Afternoon Shift Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily HR guidance and support to both management and staff.
  • Oversee the complete recruitment cycle, including training and onboarding.
  • Develop and uphold policies and procedures related to Health and Safety, AODA, and other HR regulations as necessary.
  • Manage payroll processing efficiently.
  • Act as the administrator for pension and benefits plans.
  • Oversee Health & Safety programs and associated training, including JHSC meetings, workplace inspections, and fire safety protocols.
  • Assist in conducting annual performance evaluations.
  • Plan and coordinate company events and luncheons.
  • Handle general HR administration tasks, such as maintaining employee records and tracking absences.

Qualifications:

  • A post-secondary diploma or degree in Human Resources or Business Administration, along with a minimum of 3 years of HR experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient computer skills, particularly in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Experience in manufacturing and payroll processes is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with UKG Pro and Dimensions is considered a plus.
  • Certification as a JHSC member and First Aid/CPR certifications are beneficial.
