Position Overview
Evertz Microsystems Limited is a leading provider of audio and video infrastructure solutions for the broadcast and film sectors. We are currently seeking a dedicated HR Specialist who possesses a proactive approach and a positive demeanor. The ideal candidate will effectively balance organizational objectives with employee needs, showcasing a compassionate and approachable personality.
This role places significant emphasis on Health & Safety, Payroll, and Employee Relations, with a preference for candidates who have relevant experience in these domains. The successful individual will collaborate closely with management and will be responsible for various HR functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Offer daily HR support and guidance to both management and staff.
- Oversee the complete recruitment process, including training and onboarding.
- Address employee relations matters and conduct investigations into any allegations of discrimination or harassment.
- Develop and uphold policies and procedures related to Health and Safety, AODA, and other HR regulations.
- Manage payroll processing efficiently.
- Act as the administrator for pension and benefits plans.
- Oversee Health & Safety initiatives and related training, including workplace inspections and safety training.
- Keep management informed about current employment legislation.
- Assist in the execution of annual performance evaluations.
- Plan and coordinate company events and luncheons.
- Maintain a visible presence on the production floor to foster relationships with staff.
- Handle general HR administration tasks, including maintaining employee records and tracking absences.
Qualifications
- A post-secondary diploma or degree in Human Resources or Business Administration, along with a minimum of 3 years of HR experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- In-depth knowledge of employment and health and safety legislation.
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to identify and resolve issues effectively.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Skilled in dealing with employees in a tactful and diplomatic manner.
- A collaborative team player with a positive attitude and the capability to work independently.
- Attention to detail and accuracy are essential.
- Experience in manufacturing and payroll is advantageous.
- Familiarity with HR software is considered an asset.
- Certifications in First Aid/CPR and as a JHSC member are beneficial.
