HR Specialist in Manufacturing

Position Overview
Evertz Microsystems Limited is a leader in providing advanced technology solutions for the broadcast and media industries. We are seeking a dedicated HR Specialist who embodies a proactive approach and maintains a positive demeanor. The ideal candidate will effectively balance organizational objectives with employee needs, demonstrating a compassionate and approachable personality.
This role places significant emphasis on Health & Safety, Payroll, and Employee Relations, with relevant experience in these areas being highly desirable. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with management and staff, ensuring a harmonious workplace environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Offer daily HR support and guidance to both management and employees.
- Oversee the complete recruitment process, including training and onboarding.
- Address employee relations matters and conduct investigations into workplace concerns.
- Develop and uphold policies related to Health and Safety, as well as other HR regulations.
- Manage payroll processing and ensure accuracy.
- Act as the administrator for pension and benefits plans.
- Lead Health & Safety initiatives and training programs.
- Keep management informed about current employment legislation.
- Assist in conducting annual performance evaluations.
- Organize company events and team-building activities.
- Maintain a visible presence on the production floor to foster relationships with staff.
- Handle general HR administrative tasks, including record maintenance and absence tracking.
Qualifications
- A post-secondary diploma or degree in Human Resources or Business Administration, along with a minimum of 3 years of HR experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong understanding of employment and health and safety legislation.
- Exceptional organizational skills and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Office applications.
- Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
- Strong interpersonal skills to engage with employees effectively.
- A collaborative team player with a positive attitude and the ability to work independently.
- Attention to detail and accuracy are crucial.
- Experience in manufacturing environments and payroll processing is advantageous.
- Familiarity with HR software systems is a plus.
- Certifications in Health & Safety are considered an asset.
