Role Summary

Under the general oversight of the Program Team Manager, the Clinical Nurse Specialist plays a vital role in delivering professional nursing care to patients, particularly those with intricate and unpredictable health conditions. Responsibilities include:

  • Providing independent nursing services and administering prescribed medical treatments.
  • Taking a leadership role within the healthcare team.
  • Coordinating patient care and facilitating discharge processes.
Required Experience
  • Recent experience in acute medical nursing is essential.
Educational Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited Registered Nursing program is mandatory.
Licensure and Registration
  • Current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba is required.

Active involvement in professional organizations, such as the Association of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM), is preferred.

Skills and Qualifications
  • Understanding of the scope of practice as outlined in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).
  • Consideration may be given to applicants who do not meet all qualifications if no suitable candidates are found.
