Accounts Payable Specialist

Triovest, a leading entity in the Canadian commercial real estate sector, is seeking an Accounts Payable Administrator for a contract role. This position is crucial for managing the processing of invoices associated with various operational costs, including development projects, property taxes, and utility expenses. Your primary duties will encompass the accurate entry and processing of invoices into our financial systems, ensuring proper coding, and securing necessary approvals in a timely manner.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the processing of invoices related to development, property taxes, and utilities within our financial systems.
- Ensure precise coding and obtain prompt approvals for all invoice transactions.
- Organize and maintain a systematic accounts payable filing system for effective record management.
- Proactively address and resolve discrepancies with external vendors and internal teams to avoid late payment penalties.
- Reconcile vendor statements and investigate any inconsistencies.
- As an integral member of our finance team, you will help cultivate a collaborative work atmosphere and be committed to delivering outstanding service. Your ability to adapt and meet deadlines will be vital, and we appreciate your openness to learning from experiences and embracing constructive feedback.
QUALIFICATIONS & ATTRIBUTES
- A post-secondary degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of one year of experience in accounts payable.
- Experience in Commercial Real Estate or Property Management is a plus.
- Familiarity with Yardi software is advantageous.
- Experience in processing utility and telecom invoices is also beneficial.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with intermediate to advanced skills, and competent in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Comprehensive understanding of the invoice approval workflow as it pertains to Accounts Payable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- A dedicated team player who thrives in a dynamic environment.
- Highly motivated and results-oriented with a strong ability to execute tasks efficiently.
- Must be inclusive and supportive of the diverse workforce at Triovest.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
