About The Role

The Ottawa Booth Centre is seeking a dedicated Front Line Services Coordinator to provide essential support to clients within our facility. This role plays a vital part in ensuring the smooth operation of the Centre by focusing on client well-being, safety, and overall service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client Services:
    Engage with clients to understand their needs and provide appropriate support. This includes completing intake and discharge procedures, offering emergency assistance when required, and directing clients to relevant resources within the community.
  • Safety & Security:
    Implement emergency procedures as needed, maintain communication with other services via radio, enforce residency guidelines, address inappropriate behavior, and provide backup support to various programs. Conduct regular security checks to ensure a safe environment for all.
  • Support Services:
    Maintain accurate records, report maintenance concerns promptly, contribute to housekeeping duties as required, actively participate in service planning and evaluation, and adhere to program-specific duties and responsibilities.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Relevant post-secondary education in social work or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience working with individuals facing addiction and mental health challenges.
  • Knowledge of community resources and experience administering Narcan are highly valued.

Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for building rapport with clients and collaborating effectively with colleagues.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills, including word processing and database management, is required.
  • Bilingual proficiency (English and French) is an asset.
  • A commitment to The Salvation Army's mission and values is crucial for success in this role.
