Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Front Line Service Worker to join our team at The Salvation Army. As a key member of our residential services team, you will play a vital role in providing support and care to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client Services: Establish and maintain positive relationships with clients, providing emotional support and guidance to help them achieve their goals.
  • Safety and Security: Ensure the safety and security of clients and staff, implementing emergency procedures as needed and maintaining a secure environment.
  • Support Services: Provide administrative support, maintaining accurate records and performing various tasks as required.
  • Shift-Specific Duties: Perform duties specific to your assigned shift, including rounds and security checks.
Working Conditions

As a Front Line Service Worker, you will work in a fast-paced environment, interacting with clients who may be experiencing challenging situations. You may be required to deal with angry or abusive clients, and may encounter verbal abuse. You will also be required to provide emergency assistance, including administering Narcan as needed.

Qualifications and Education
  • Education: Relevant post-secondary education in social work or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 1-3 years' experience working with hard-to-serve populations with addictions and/or mental health issues.
Skills and Capabilities
  • Communication: Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with diverse populations.
  • Computer Skills: Basic computer skills, including word processing and database management.
  • Language: Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset.
Salary and Benefits

The starting salary for this position is $19.61, with an increase to $20.14 upon successful completion of the probationary period. The Salvation Army offers a comprehensive benefits package, including accommodation for applicants with disabilities.
