We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Front Line Service Worker to join our team at The Salvation Army. As a key member of our residential services team, you will provide essential support to our clients, ensuring their safety and well-being.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide front-line service to clients, including maintaining the security of the facility and its residents
* Initiate contact with clients, identify their needs, and gather information to assess further areas of need
* Monitor progress of clients in working on goal plans and refer to appropriate Centre and community resources as needed
* Complete accurate intake and discharge procedures with clients as needed
* Provide emergency assistance, as required and appropriate
* Accept and receive monies, donations, and goods
* Attend staff meetings and case conferences and be prepared to offer information regarding clients and service issues

Working Conditions

* Work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
* May deal with angry and abusive clients
* May encounter verbal abuse
* May be required to deal with client overdose and other medical situations

Qualifications and Education Requirements

* Relevant post-secondary education in social work or related field
* Minimum 1-3 years' experience working with hard-to-serve populations with addictions and/or mental health issues
* Knowledge of client community and community resources
* Experience administering Narcan and/or Narcan training a strong asset

Skills and Capabilities

* Effective communication, both oral and written
* Effective interpersonal skills
* Some computer skills in word processing and database
* Bilingual (English and French) an asset
* Ability to undergo applicable screening and background checks successfully

Salary and Benefits

* Non-negotiable starting salary of $19.61, increase to $20.14 at successful completion of probationary period
