Key Responsibilities

  1. Recruit, select, train, schedule, mentor, and assist team members, ensuring adherence to established brand or hotel standards and alignment with HHM core values.
  2. Address guest grievances and inquiries by conducting comprehensive investigations and identifying the most effective resolutions.
  3. Monitor guest satisfaction metrics and strive to enhance departmental and overall guest contentment.
  4. Engage in lobby ambassador initiatives and other guest interaction activities to foster relationships and a culture that encourages repeat visits.
  5. Supervise front office functions in the absence of the Front Office Manager or Assistant General Manager.
  6. Conduct financial tasks such as account balancing and audits.
  7. Manage and confirm reservations.
  8. Promote Hersha Hospitality and brand-specific marketing initiatives.
  9. Welcome guests promptly upon arrival; register and allocate guests to hotel accommodations.
  10. Provide welcome packets containing room keys, certificates, coupons, and refreshment center keys as applicable.
  11. Calculate bills, collect payments, handle cash transactions, and provide change to guests.
  12. Finalize guest accounts at check-out; in cases of dissatisfaction, negotiate compromises, which may include authorizing revenue adjustments.
  13. Develop specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and timely action plans to address guest service shortcomings.
  14. Ensure that the hotel entrance, reception, and other public areas are maintained to high standards of cleanliness and appearance.
  15. Adhere to sustainability guidelines and practices related to HHM's EarthView program.
  16. Employ safe work practices, utilize protective safety equipment, and comply with MSDS and OSHA standards.
  17. Execute additional duties as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications

  1. Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  2. 1 to 3 years of relevant experience.

Work Environment and Conditions

  1. Work schedule may vary and could include shifts on holidays and weekends.
  2. Requires prolonged standing, walking, pushing, lifting up to 25 pounds, bending, reaching, stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
