Department Manager, Prospect St

About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Department Manager to join our team at Mark's. As a Department Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of sales associates and providing exceptional customer service to our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the customer experience by processing and moving inventory to the sales floor in a timely manner.
- Model active selling behaviors and techniques to set an example for department team members and help them grow in confidence.
- Promote company programs, including loyalty programs and seasonal promotions.
- Provide an exceptional omni-channel experience by offering in-store eCommerce sales and fulfilling eCommerce orders within defined service levels.
Training and Development
- Support and coach team members to improve performance gaps and provide ongoing feedback to improve the team.
- Communicate clearly and concisely with the team, leading effective Shift Starter meetings and training sessions.
- Mentor team members and lead in the execution of Customer Experience, proactively resolving customer concerns.
Leadership
- Provide leadership to the team and consistently coach and follow up to ensure delivery of service model standards to each customer.
- Effectively problem solve, delegate, and follow up on tasks assigned to team members.
- Promote and maintain a positive and motivating work environment.
- Act as a brand ambassador, exemplifying Mark's leadership and culture.
- Complete opening and closing duties as part of manager on duty responsibilities.
Requirements
- Proven ability to coach, mentor, and develop department team and store team through setting expectations, communication, coaching, feedback, and ongoing support.
- Proven ability to build and manage a daily game plan for the department and store.
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
- Superior training and mentoring skills.
- 3-5 years retail experience required.
- High energy, enthusiasm, and a drive to succeed.
- Basic computer skills required.
