Clinical Psychologist, Community Mental Health

Position Overview: The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a dedicated Clinical Psychologist to join our Community Mental Health team. This role is pivotal in delivering comprehensive mental health services to children and adolescents.

About the Role: As a Clinical Psychologist, you will engage in evidence-based assessments, consultations, and therapeutic interventions for youth aged 3-19. You will be part of a dynamic team that emphasizes collaboration and interdisciplinary approaches to mental health care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough psychological assessments and develop treatment plans.
  • Provide individual, family, and group therapy sessions.
  • Collaborate with other health professionals and community agencies to enhance service delivery.
  • Participate in training and supervision of psychology students and residents.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and research initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. or PsyD in Clinical Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of an APA or CPA Accredited Predoctoral Internship in Psychology.
  • Eligibility for registration with the Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology.
  • Extensive experience in child and adolescent mental health.
  • Proficiency in evidence-based assessment and treatment methodologies.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.

Work Schedule: Standard hours are Monday to Friday, with flexibility required to meet client needs.
