Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Psychologist to join our Community Mental Health Services team. This role is pivotal in delivering comprehensive mental health support to children and adolescents.

About Us: The Nova Scotia Health Authority is a leading healthcare provider, committed to delivering exceptional mental health services across the region. Our team comprises experienced professionals who are passionate about improving the well-being of our community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct evidence-based assessments and provide tailored interventions for youth aged 3-19.
  • Engage in individual, family, and group therapy sessions.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance treatment outcomes.
  • Participate in the training and supervision of psychology students and residents.
  • Utilize best practices in diagnosing and developing treatment plans for a diverse range of mental health issues.

Your Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. or PsyD in Clinical Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of an APA or CPA Accredited Predoctoral Internship in Psychology.
  • Eligibility for registration with the Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology.
  • Extensive training and clinical experience in child and adolescent mental health.
  • Proven ability to apply evidence-based assessment and treatment methodologies.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.

Work Schedule: Standard hours are Monday to Friday, with some flexibility required.

Additional Information: This position is part of a healthcare bargaining unit. Successful candidates will undergo background checks and credential verification as part of the hiring process.
