About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our interdisciplinary team at the Centre for Emotions & Health. As a member of our team, you will provide assessment, diagnosis, consultation, and psychotherapy services to patients. Your expertise will be invaluable in helping us deliver high-quality care to our patients.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in clinical psychology, with a recognized MSc in Clinical Psychology from an accredited university program. You will be registered or eligible for registration with the NSBEP and have a minimum of two years relevant clinical experience. Advanced psychotherapy skills and training in ISTDP are assets, as is formal training and clinical experience in conducting psychological and cognitive assessment and consultation.

We are looking for a self-directed individual who can work effectively with resistant and sometimes challenging client groups. You will be able to work independently and as an effective member of a multidisciplinary team, dealing with challenging clinical situations and crises. The ability to develop and present education programs to healthcare professionals and community organizations is also essential.

The successful candidate will also have experience with the provision of clinical supervision to students from psychology and other mental health disciplines, and a willingness to incorporate such responsibilities into their work routine. Competencies in other languages are an asset, with French being preferred.

About You

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Clinical Psychologist who is passionate about delivering high-quality care to patients. If you have the following qualifications and experience, we would love to hear from you:

  • Recognized MSc in Clinical Psychology from an accredited university program
  • Registered or eligible for registration with the NSBEP
  • A minimum of two years relevant clinical experience
  • Advanced psychotherapy skills and training in ISTDP as asset
  • Formal training and clinical experience in conducting psychological and cognitive assessment and consultation
  • The ability to work effectively with resistant and sometimes challenging client groups

Hours

The successful candidate will work a long assignment, part-time, 50% FTE, 37.5 hours bi-weekly. The assignment will be approximately 12 months, from July 2024 to August 2025.

Compensation and Incentives

The successful candidate will be offered a competitive salary of $49.05 hourly. They may also be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan. Recruitment incentives may be available based on qualifying criteria.
